![]() Update: I am not at all sure this has anything to do with it, but I recently discovered this article about potential issues that can occur if a Mac boots from a conventional rotating hard drive if is formatted with Apple's APFS file system. ![]() Note: it is possible this is something unique to my Mac. Over the past few weeks It has occasionally acted a bit weirdly, but I have done all the usual troubleshooting steps, including running Disk Utility's repair disk step, running a memory checker, & even reinstalling the OS, none of which has turned up anything unusual. On the next launch of the app I have to go through the same workaround.īefore reporting it as a bug, I would like to know if anybody else has seen the same or similar behavior. Each time I start up any of the Affinity apps, this happens, but until I quit the app, once I go through the select something else & Photos item again workaround it continues to work as expected. This behavior is completely repeatable for me. So I know it is possible to access the Photos library via the Media > Photos item from within Affinity - that is not completely broken - but something is preventing it from being accessed when I first select that item. The weird thing is that if I choose any other sidebar item (for example Network in the Locations section) & then switch back to the "Photos" item, the Photos library appears on the right, & I can then access any of its choices (like Moments, People, Albums, etc.). In the File > Open window of the Mac Affinity versions, there is a "Media" item in the sidebar with a "Photos" item that when selected should provide access to photos stored in any of the *.photoslibrary packages used by several Apple apps, among them Photos, iPhoto, & Photo Booth.Īs shown above, when I select the Media > Photos item, after a brief moment when all three libraries appear on the right, the Photos library disappears, leaving only the iPhoto & Photo Booth libraries.
